Non formal education programmes for drop out children

There are many children in India who are forced to drop out of school at an young age due to lack of economic resources or due to lack of encouragement from parents to continue education. To reintegrate these children in the formal schooling system, we run centers where qualified teachers impart non formal education to drop out children to bring them on par with their peers in schools.

Sponsoring libraries in rural schools

Books are an integral part of education and to promote reading habits among rural children and bridge the knowledge gap, we keep sponsoring libraries in rural schools on a regular basis. And gladly we have received positive feedback from the teachers in this mission.

Day care centers

Most of the women in rural areas work as agricultural labours or in some other capacity to augment the family income. Keeping the needs of working mother in mind, we run day care centers for the young infants and children. Our day care centers have come as a big relief to working mothers who had no one else to take care of their younger children while they remain engaged in work. This has also decreased the drop outs and absenteeism among older children who would otherwise had to stay back at home to tend their younger siblings.

Child labour back to school programme

Through our child labour back to school programme, we identify the child labours from the community, provide them free education in our centers and mainstream them in formal schools. We sensitize those parents, who due to lack of finances, are forced to treat their children as income generating assets. We generate awareness on the ill effects of child labour and the penalties for employing a child as a labour.

Distribution of teaching learning materials in schools

Apart from conducting non formal education, we also try to reach out to students attending rural government schools which lack necessary teaching learning materials. We identify such schools and distribute necessary equipment s like slates, pencils, and other teaching learning materials.

The Hope Foundation is working towards finding a sustainable solution to these problems. But we cannot do this alone. We need your help. Every contribution, big or small, can make a difference. It will help stem some of the damage to fragile ecosystems; it will help sustain some indigenous communities and their unique cultures. It will give us fresh heart. And it will tell the world that you care.
